Each year, the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) invests in the next generation of resource sector engineers and scientists by providing prestigious undergraduate scholarships in partnership with key Queensland universities.
In addition to financial assistance, students who receive a QRC scholarship will be invited to join the QRC Student Ambassador Program.
Through the program students receive:
|
 | opportunities to attend industry conferences, networking and ambassadorial events | |
assistance to secure vacation work with a minerals or energy company and | |

| Coal Minesite Rehabilitation Trust Fund—postgraduate scholarships | |
In addition to supporting undergraduate students with QRC scholarships, the QRC also supports students via postgraduate scholarships, which are funded from the Coal Minesite Rehabilitation Trust Fund.
The QRC and the Queensland Government are the trustees of the Coal Minesite Rehabilitation Trust Fund.
The fund is overseen by a steering committee of representatives from the fund’s trustees along with representatives from major Queensland coal mining companies.
The fund was established in 1999 with the objective of supporting research into the management of Queensland coal minesite environmental issues leading to the achievement of sustainable operations and post-mining land uses.
Applications for the 2010 postgraduate scholarships closed in December 2009.
The steering committee determines postgraduate scholarship offerings on an annual basis. Information on the 2011 postgraduate scholarships round will be published here in late 2010.
