The Why and How of Investing in Junior Explorers Report

Reflecting its commitment to supporting minerals and energy exploration, the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) commissioned independent research house Aegis Equities Research to prepare this guide to investing in junior explorers.

Junior explorers are the lifeblood of Queensland’s vibrant and growing resources sector that comprises globally-established and emerging industries in mining, petroleum, coal-seam gas, underground coal gasification, uranium, oil shale, greenhouse gas storage and geothermal energy.

The discoveries made by junior explorers are fundamental to the development of new minerals and energy projects that provide so much of Queensland’s prosperity, illustrated by the resources sector’s direct and indirect contribution of 20 percent of the state’s economic output and one in every eight jobs.

This guide is designed to inform potential investors and the community about the opportunities and risks involved in investing in junior explorers, without whom Queensland would not have the minerals and energy wealth we too often take for granted.
