Cockatoo Coal Limited is an independent Australian coal production company, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.
Cockatoo Coal currently operates in Queensland, Australia, where it recently acquired the Baralaba coal mine in the Bowen Basin (December 2008).
Baralaba provides an important operating platform, from which the business plans significant future growth through developing a portfolio of well-advanced projects in the Bowen and Surat Basins.
Between 2009 and 2016, the company is planning to develop its assets in both Basins – with a view to expanding production from 300,000tpa to in excess of 10Mtpa – to service forecast strong, long-term demand for export coal.
