Queue up for QREX
The inaugural Queensland Resources Expo (QREX) is coming to central Queensland.
It's a four-day celebration of minerals and energy production (23-26 May 2007) held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds.
QREX's aim is to inform, educate and entertain people of all ages, and will be of particular interest to those keen on a career in the mining, minerals processing and energy generation industries.
If this sounds like you, this is a must-see event!

QREX is a joint promotion involving Rockhampton City Council, the Queensland Resources Council, Rockhampton Tourist & Business Information, Central Queensland University, and the Queensland and Federal Governments.

Who will be there? |  |
Just about everyone and anyone with an interest in the future of central Queensland's minerals and energy industries. That includes students, families, industry personnel and expert guest speakers from around Australia.
A crowd of more than 15,000 is expected to attend events over four days. More than 200 industry exhibitors will be displaying their products and services at the showgrounds.

School skill competitions
Get your school involved! The competitions are a fun way to help you learn about the industries driving the central Queensland region. It also gives schools the chance to ‘show off’ (so to speak) their skills and team of talent to the local community, businesses and industry leaders. Hey, you never know who you might run into!
Competitions run from grade five through to grade 12 with fantastic prizes on offer. You can be a part of it! Below sets out the competition categories and how your school can nominate to join in the fun.

Want to get out on site and see what really goes on? Lucky for you site tours are being conducted on 24 and 25 May.

You’ll learn everything about the latest clean coal technology to seeing one of the world's largest producers of magnesia products.
