Dear Industry Colleagues
The Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference will be held at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre and Jupiters Townsville from 23rd to 26th August 2009.
The theme of this years Conference is ‘Safety & Health – everyone’s business’ which is a theme that resonates with everyone. Stressful times require positive action and therefore the Conference this year will focus on how to best provide the tools and adopt the mindset that we all need to do our bit to keep the workplace safe and healthy during these difficult economic times.
In 2008 some 720 people attended the Conference in Townsville – this record number of attendees attested to the critical importance of health and safety for our industry.
There is no doubt that this Conference provides a valuable, creditable forum for all those dedicated to working towards a safer and healthier future in mining and we look forward to welcoming your participation in Townsville in August.
