An invitation to attend
On behalf of the Conference Committee of the Queensland Mining Industry Health and Safety Conference 2013, it is my pleasure to extend an invitation to you to participate in this important event for the mining industry.
The Conference will be held at the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre from 4.30pm on Sunday 18th to 12.30pm on Wednesday 21st August.
The Conference is not about how to mine or where we mine, it is all about the improvement of health and safety in the mining industry.
Every year we choose a new theme, one that we believe highlights areas of our industry requiring closer scrutiny. As this year’s theme we have chosen ‘The one constant – health and safety’ with ‘valuing our people’ as a sub theme to provide focus for the three days of conferencing.
With a record number of over 820 people in attendance in 2012, this Conference is one of the largest health and safety conferences in the southern hemisphere. Last year a record 65 organisations took the opportunity to display their products and services and it is anticipated this number will increase this year.
The Conference Committee is again developing a business program that presents the latest information on current issues from around Australia and overseas, with time for you to interact with the presenters and to share knowledge and experiences.
Program highlights will be: - Seven keynote presentations
- Thirty-six concurrent presentations
- Ten Innovation Award presentations
- One interactive facilitated session on a major health and safety issue
- Access to up to 65 trade displays of the latest products and services
- Three evening networking functions
So please allocate the short time to join with other delegates, who like you, are constantly aiming to improve the health and safety of the mining industry workforce.
We look forward to welcoming you as a delegate, presenter or sponsor in Townsville in August.
