LNG leader steps down

19 April 2017

The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) congratulates David Baldwin for his distinguished leadership as Integrated Gas Chief Executive Officer for Origin.

David, who is a Board member of the QRC, will step down from his Origin position at the end of April after 11 years with the energy company. Queensland Resources Council Chief Executive Ian Macfarlane said David had worked tirelessly for the industry.

“I thank David for his valued contribution to both the QRC and the natural resources sector and I wish him every success in his new ventures,” Mr Macfarlane said.

“David’s strength of character and extensive knowledge across LNG, gas and energy were a valuable addition to the QRC Board, and in particular his chairmanship of the gas forums. David played a critical role in framing QRC’s policy work.

“QRC’s ‘Resourcing Innovation’ campaign launched last year significantly improved the favourability of people’s attitude towards the sector, and David was one of its leading backers.

“David achieved significant milestones through a challenging period for Origin with the rapid and very successful execution of Australia Pacific LNG.”

David will remain with Origin for a period of time as an advisor to the CEO to assist on key projects.
