Maroon Fund

Maroon Fund Nomination

The Queensland Resources Council has proposed the Australian Government use extra revenue from higher metallurgical coal prices to establish a $1 billion Maroon Fund for Queensland projects helping Queenslanders.

The QRC is urging community groups, charities, non-government organisations and local governments to nominate projects or programs that could be funded under the Maroon Fund.

The QRC will collate all nominations and provide them to Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten prior to the Federal election.

All nominations should be lodged with QRC before 5pm on 5 April 2019, the end of Budget week in Canberra.
