Mining and Petroleum Tenure Regulation
To attract investment, Queensland must ensure its land tenure system is efficient, predictable and user-friendly
Queensland’s tenure framework is broad and is governed across a number of pieces of legislation by commodity.
Over the years there have been a number of reviews into how to create a better tenure framework. QRC has outlined what industry is looking for in a new tenure framework –
- Must be predictable – certainty of process and timing
- Must be resourced appropriately – confident decision making and increased case management approach
- Must be flexible – needs to be able to respond quickly with industry through both high and low economic cycles and frontier basin/commodity developments.
