Maximising the benefit of Queensland’s natural resources for the state involves achieving positive coexistence between the coal and coal seam gas industries
Ensuring the co-development of the coal and coal seam gas industry is a vital component of continued growth.
Since 2012, QRC has worked with our coal and coal seam gas members to develop a default agreement – to deliver the outcome that is in Queensland’s best interest
The framework has now been legislated and QRC is working with its members on the final implementation pieces, which will commence in September 2016. It establishes a series of agreed features including a right of way for coal and compensation for lost coal seam gas production.
QRC has developed a guide for industry that pulls together all the relevant information about the new framework, including case examples.
