Rob Jackson

Vice President Supplies | South32, Cannington

Rob Jackson is the Vice President Supply for South32 accountable for category management, purchasing, inventory and warehouse operations across nine operations and three continents.

A Mining Engineer who holds a Master in Finance, Rob is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Throughout his 25-year career, Rob has held corporate and operational roles in different minerals and countries.

Before stepping into the Supply arena, Rob held senior operational roles including Vice-President Operations and Director of Cannington silver, lead and zinc operation in North-West Queensland and Vice-President Operations and Director of GEMCO manganese mine based on Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory.  Rob has been a member of South32’s Senior Leadership Team throughout this time.

Rob is recognised amongst peers as a progressive leader and is a passionate advocate for inclusion and diversity. His dedication to workplace diversity saw him named the Queensland Resource Council’s Gender Diversity Champion for 2019 with the Cannington operation also awarded the Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance under his stewardship.

During his career, Rob has led his teams through considerable technical change, lifted health and environmental management standards, negotiated both mining and exploration agreements with governments and an economic development agreement with Traditional Owners.
