Miner victory in Queensland COVID-19 response
17 April 2020
The Queensland Resources Council has welcomed results from a second test of a Blackwater mine worker confirming he does not have COVID-19.
QRC Chief Executive Ian Macfarlane said while this test result was great news for the Rockhampton-based worker, his family and his colleagues, the industry reaffirmed its vigilance in slowing the spread of COVID-19.
“As an industry we are working tirelessly to flatten the curve and keep Queensland working. We are adhering to the Chief Health Officer directives and deploying additional safeguards. We and the government are working tirelessly together,” he said.
“We need more good days like today.”
