The Queensland Minerals and Energy Academy (QMEA) bridges education and industry, inspiring students to pursue pathways in the resources sector and STEM fields.

As Australia’s largest industry-led initiative, QMEA enhances students’ and teachers’ understanding through innovative programs. These programs not only prepare students for future careers but also support teachers in delivering engaging STEM education.

QMEA’s impact is significant, engaging 5,605 students in 223 workshops last year alone. These workshops received high praise, with an 85% satisfaction rate, highlighting their quality and real-world relevance.

Diversity is a core focus, with nearly half of workshop participants being female and 12% Indigenous. Collaborations with industry leaders have resulted in tailored programs like site tours and mentoring initiatives, fostering inclusive pathways for underrepresented groups.

In partnership with QRC and the Queensland Government’s Gateway to Industry Schools Program, QMEA continues to shape the future of education and industry collaboration, empowering students and enriching Queensland’s workforce.
