QRC welcomes CSG industry’s support of the Aero-Medical Service
11 June 2020
The Queensland Resources Council has welcomed the coal seam gas (CSG) industry’s five-year funding extension to the Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service to at least 2025.
QRC Chief Executive Ian Macfarlane said the CSG industry understands the importance of supporting the communities in which it operates.
“Today’s announcement from Santos, Shell’s QGC, Origin and Arrow Energy underpins the industry’s commitment to not just the economies of regional communities but the health and well-being of their residents,” Mr Macfarlane said.
“SGAS Aero-Medical Service is operated through LifeFlight and provides a medical lifeline to people in remote communities in the State’s South West with helicopters based at Roma and Toowoomba.
“Time is a critical factor for people in need of immediate healthcare and LifeFlight is medically equipped to service these communities 365 days of the year.
“The Queensland resources industry will continue to support the economy of Queensland through the post COVID-19 recovery and keep communities safe.”
