The Board and staff of the Queensland Resources Council (QRC) offer their condolences to the family of Keith De Lacy, AM.

Keith was the Chair of Macarthur Coal for many years, a coal mining company which pulled itself up by the bootstraps to be a home-grown Queensland success story.

Macarthur was always a very active QRC member, and we always appreciated Keith’s insights, which were delivered with his trademark bone-dry wit and searing candour.

Macarthur Coal also gave QRC our first female President in Nicole Hollows.

Former QRC Chief Executive, the late Michael Roche, was Keith’s Chief of Staff when he was Treasurer in the Goss Government. There were no dry eyes in the room when Keith delivered a wonderful eulogy at Michael’s memorial service.

As a former miner, we celebrate Keith’s lifetime of major service to the Queensland public.
