Queensland Financial Provisioning Scheme 2026 Review
The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) welcomes the opportunity to provide feedback on the Queensland Government's 2026 review of the Financial Provisioning Scheme (FPS, the ‘Scheme’), which was established in April 2019 through the Mineral and Energy Resources (Financial Provisioning) Act 2018 (MERFP Act). QRC supports the objective of ensuring the State is appropriately protected from the financial risks associated with resource operators failing to meet their environmental and rehabilitation obligations.

Domestic Gas Reservation Scheme – Draft Design Framework
The QRC submission to the Australian Government’s consultation on the Domestic Gas Reservation Scheme draft design framework provides industry feedback on proposed measures to support domestic gas supply and place downward pressure on prices. It highlights the need for a framework that increases supply, maintains investment and export competitiveness, respects existing contracts and commercial arrangements, and ensures domestic contribution obligations are equitable, transparent and do not disproportionately impact Queensland producers and projects.
