Carter Newell’s mining, energy and resources team has built an excellent reputation in the Australian resources industry – representing public and private companies in this area for more than twenty years.

Led by Partner Bronwyn Clarkson, the team has been recognised at firm and individual Partner levels by Doyles Guide and Best Lawyers in relation to energy and resources and oil and gas law.

The team has both the knowledge and experience to assist energy and resources clients throughout the entire lifecycle of a project, from asset acquisition, structuring and project start-up, to the commercialisation of the asset, managing the project’s operational phase, and final decommissioning and rehabilitation. We also assist clients navigate commitments to local communities, indigenous owners and impacted landholders, the health and safety of employees, and the impact on the natural environment in which these projects are situated.

With a focus on providing commercial solutions to legal problems in a timely and cost-effective manner, the team have built long-term relationships with many resources operators – from some of Australia’s largest petroleum and mining companies through to smaller exploration focussed entities.
