Opened in 2016, the Brisbane Office is Jones Day’s third office in Australia and 43rd worldwide. The Firm opened its Sydney Office in 1998 and its Perth Office in 2014. Together, Jones Day’s Australian offices have more than 60 lawyers who practice Australian law and provide a wide range of services for clients, including in litigation, projects and infrastructure, M&A, private equity, intellectual property, and restructuring and insolvency.
The Firm has been active in Queensland for a number of years having acted for clients involved in major coal seam gas and coal projects in Queensland and represented clients involved in major disputes in Queensland. The Brisbane Office will focus on M&A, projects and infrastructure, and project-related disputes, with an emphasis on the energy and resources, construction, tourism, property, and agriculture sectors.
