The opportunity
This is a full-time contract role (June 2026 – January 2028) based in Brisbane, with regular travel across Queensland.
From Term 3, QRC will lead the delivery of the Power and Energy Gateway to Industry Schools Project, part of the Queensland Government’s Gateway to Industry Schools Program. This project connects secondary school students with real career pathways in the power and energy sector – including generation, transmission and storage – by bringing together schools, industry and training providers.
As Project Officer, you will play a key role in delivering this initiative end-to-end, helping students better understand the opportunities available and supporting teachers with industry-aligned learning experiences.

- Planning and delivering engaging in-school and on-site experiences, workshops and events.
- Promoting industry-endorsed career pathways across the power and energy sector.
- Supporting teachers through professional development and industry exposure.
- Managing project reporting, evaluation, budgets and risk.
This is a hands-on, outward-facing role that will see you working directly with students, educators and industry to bring the project to life.
About you
You will bring:
- At least 2 years’ experience in project delivery and stakeholder engagement
- Strong communication, presentation and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively
- An understanding of, or ability to apply, a power and energy industry context to education initiatives
- A strong commitment to duty of care, health, safety and privacy when working with young people
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and digital tools
A current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or the ability to obtain one, is required.
Why this role matters
This project is designed to strengthen the pipeline of future talent into Queensland’s power and energy sector. By connecting students with real-world industry experiences, you will help shape career pathways and support the next generation of skilled workers.
