2020 QRC Indigenous Awards

2020 QRC Indigenous Awards

The QRC is pleased to present the recording of the 2020 Indigenous Awards, our annual event that brings together individuals who demonstrate, or have led, best practice in our sector. Due to COVID restrictions, this year we were unable to gather in person but this did not prevent us from celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander excellence in the Queensland resources sector. More than 800 people tuned in on the day to watch and afterwards mingle during the online networking session. You can watch the full recording below.

Special recognition of Mr Robert Toby

The QRC is pleased to recognise the work of Mr Robert Toby Jr., a GNP elder and Cultural Heritage Coordinator of Westside Corporation. Robert passed away in 2019, but during his lifetime was a tireless advocate for Indigenous people in the resources sector and in government. As a mark of respect, the QRC invited Robert’s daughter Sam Toby, Auntie Lyn and Auntie Deb to accept an award on his behalf at this year’s awards.  You can watch their acceptance of the award below.

Congratulations to all our winners!

The nominations this year presented judges with a difficult task of identifying the applications which best met each criterion. The QRC is pleased to present the following nominees as winners in each category:
